CameraPro is offering a beginners course that covers the technical fundamentals of digital photography. Whether it’s for upcoming travel, family or your everyday surroundings, our industry experienced tutors will provide you with the necessary knowledge and confidence to take your photography to the next level.
The course will comprise both theoretical and practical content over a 5 hour session delivered by two of our Camerapro staff. Simon Hardy and Jay Young, both Bachelor of Photography graduates have over ten years of combined industry experience. Tickets are limited to 6 positions to allow for an intimate learning experience.
About Simon:
Formally trained through the Queensland College of Art, Simon holds a Bachelors Degree in Photography, specialising in Photojournalism. Whilst his personal work focuses on social documentary, Simon has broad industry experience in commercial, corporate, editorial and portrait photography. Driven by a strong commitment to the photographic medium, he is passionate about education and being able to share the experiences and knowledge with fellow photographers.
About Jay:
Jay Young, a Queenslander from the Far North has had a camera in front of him since he was old enough to lift one, attained his formal qualification at James Cook University and upon completing a Bachelor of Photography he ventured to the big smoke. Since 2008 Jay has worked with some of the most prestigious photographic studios in Brisbane. He has a background in wedding photography and specialises in studio lighting portraiture. Jay has a unique perspective for imagery and a talent for seeing the photographic potential of any location.

- Exposure triangle (aperture, shutter speed and ISO)
- Composition (basic principles to improve your images)
- Lighting - (Introduction to ambient natural light)
Upon completion attendees will:
-Understand the fundamentals of photography and become confident with using your camera to its fullest potential
-Have the tools to take your photographic journey to the next level
